    The SEG Wavelets is the student chapter of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists at the University of Houston. The group organized a software bootcamp that brought in professionals from companies Schlumberger and StructureSolver to teach the class for students.

While much of the focus of the public has been on the high profile tests of passenger vehicles and their high profile accidents, a quiet transformation to automation has been happening in the automation of medium and heavy duty freight as well as industrial fleets.

    ESG IN THE ENERGY INDUSTRY WORKSHOP

    The Consortium for Energy Corporate Social Responsibility (CECSR) at the University of Houston (UH) will host a day long workshop on Environment, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) as applied to the different sectors of the energy industry on February 27, 2020.

    The morning sessions will provide current and leading thoughts on ESG reporting from multiple perspectives of the energy industry – industry experts, investors, raters, rankers, and academics. The workshop sessions in the afternoon will discuss guidelines and tools for ESG reporting including identifying materiality that matters.

    ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE SYMPOSIUM

    The last summer in Texas has been an exemplar to the challenges we face with the energy infrastructure. The aging and “old energy” generation infrastructure is increasingly being retired and much of the reliance of base-load power generation from these sources is becoming ineffective. In the meantime, the new generation and storage infrastructure is displaying the classic early technology challenges and not as reliable and causing significant economic impact.
